The Covid-19 Virus continues to upend our daily lives. Many states have now announced that school will not resume this school year, and we are starting to hear grumblings that school may not fully resume in autumn. Belanger Books continues to offer an activity for students and parents alike to complete at home as well as free eBooks to help pass the time away. 

Each week for the remainder of April, we will have at least one eBook available for free on Amazon. Scion Society Meetings During the Pandemic

Dr. Watson's Neglected Patients have a Zoom meeting for their monthly gathering.

Sherlock Holmes societies, like everyone else in the world, have had to get creative with their meetings. Yesterday, Dr. Watson's Neglected Patients, the Denver based Scion Society, had our monthly meeting over Zoom. While there is nothing like meeting in person, we all agreed that there were some positives to the Zoom gathering including:

• Sound - as part of our Scion routine, we meet monthly at Pint's Pub in Denver. While there is something nice about meeting in a loud and raucous restaurant, it sometimes is difficult to hear during the discussion and monthly quiz. There was no such problem with a Zoom meeting.

• Faces - We could see everyone through the Zoom window. This just isn't possible in a pub. In fact, during the quiz and discussion, the speaker always has their back to somebody.

• Participants - We were able to have members from out of town and even out of state join us at the meeting. It was wonderful to meet these members virtually for the very first time.
